Jacksonville is alive with music of all genres and cultural tastes with Jacksonville Symphony Orchestra at the Times-Union Center for the Performing Arts, celebrity concerts at the Alltel Stadium, and free programs of the Beaches Fine Art Series at St. Paul's By-The-Sea Episcopal Church with international artists. There’s also the performance-based music programs of the University of North Florida in Jacksonville, Ritz Chamber Players, the St Johns River City Band or the Jacksonville Children’s Chorus, to name a few.

Major musical events include the Jacksonville Jazz Festival, “Come Together Day” a hip-hop event at Metro Park, the three-day “Springing the Blues” Festival, and Planetfest.

Local restaurants with popular entertainment are Stella’s Piano Café in an old Victorian house, Freebird Café, Sun Dog Diner, Ragtime Tavern and Taproom for jazz and blues, and T-birds Dance Club Live entertainment in the courtyard of Jacksonville Landing.
