damita c.'s Bio

Spoken Art artist Precious Pyn, who’s formal name is Damita, has been writing poetry ever since middle school. This unique poet was raised around the arts, as her mother, Lady Flute, is a flute musician. She loves incorporating various art forms with her poetry. “Its such a synergy to have a poet, a musician, & artist put up front & center to free style. The artistry that flows from synergistic free styling is different than the poetry that may come to me naturally or that I may write for a specific occasion.”Precious’ debut spoken art sampler is schedule for release late November 2007. “I’d say one of my favorite pieces is Explicit Purity©.” The difference between spoken word & spoken art? “We speak words every day. I have chose to paint a picture with mine. One that you can hang on your mental wall to serve reminder that you are spiritual. Spoken Art became my ‘mini revolution’ about 2 years ago. A fellow poet friend of mine & I we conversing about what spoken word meant to us. We were more or less discontent with that label, that’s when spoken art was born.” Precious Pyn has many aspirations involving various business ventures. At the present she is Ms. African American Student Union, motivational speaker, poet, & travel professional ( www.ytb.com/cashtravelcheap). She also oversees PRITY, which a peer circle for young ladies ages 10-18yrs (www.prity.net). “When we love God, & help others God truly will bless our lives. 2 Cor 4: 13-15 is lovely, vs 13: “We having the same spirit of faith, according as it is written, I believed, and therefore have I spoken; we also believe, and therefore speak.” My matra is ‘all knowledge is not truth’. If it’s not positive, I don’t meditate on it. If its not truth, I don’t speak it.
